Title:  Graphic Production (Prepress) Artist

Reports To:  Vice President of Design

The Creative Lab at FranklinCovey is looking for someone who is full of confidence and ideas. We're committed to our clients, excited by what we do, and inspired to build our brand into the future. To build this future, we need a Graphic Production Artist with a persistence for perfection, and special eye for details. This position would entail 100% percent graphic and prepress production.

As a key member of the Creative Lab, you will partner with our production manager and the creative leadership to increase attention to the needs our production output. You’ll be expected to grow your skill-set and knowledge base by working alongside talented and passionate teammates from diverse backgrounds.

While an art director comes up with creative concepts and a designer executes them, it’s the graphic and production prepress artist who ensures they’re able to come to life. That’s why strong typographic and layout skills, strict attention to detail, and outstanding organizational, project management, file-organization and archiving skills are a must.

Job Requirements

Essential Experience 

  • Expert working experience with Pitstop Pro, Adobe Indesign 2020, Adobe Acrobate DC Pro 2020, Adobe Photoshop 2020 and Adobe Illustrator 2020.
  • Experience working within a large design team, agency experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills in a fast paced environment
  • Meets all deadlines, fulfills scheduling commitments, and consistently achieves quick turnarounds in a fast-paced, rapidly changing creative environment. 
  • Prepare final press-ready files based on supplied specifications for several types of printing or digital output.
  • Make various formats of supplied artwork production-ready and resolve any artwork issues that arise during production.
  • Provide image retouching, clipping paths and additional image manipulation.
  • Package and preflight files for release to printers or media partners.
  • Create PDFs for print and client review.
  • Prepare images for online and mobile applications.
  • Catalog and reference art for future projects.
  • Follow development timelines to ensure tasks are being completed on time
  • Troubleshoot problems as they arise with both the creative team and the
    printer as needed.
