Title:  Large Initiatives Project Manager – Education           

Reports to:  General Manager

Location: Remote - Anywhere in the US

 

Job Summary
The Project Manager provides a vital leadership role in the Education Division at FranklinCovey. The Project Manager ensures the delivery of exceptional services and is responsible for maintaining project schedules, records of tasks or action items and workflow on projects. Will help execute and finalize projects according to high-quality standards, strict deadlines, and within budget.  Includes proactively acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan.  The Project Manager will oversee quality control throughout the project’s life cycle ensuring execution of commitments and goals.  Exhibits a high degree of initiative, flexibility, and self-direction.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Work with multiple functional teams to develop full-scale project plans and associated communication documents.
  • Oversees project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively to manage changes in project scope and direction in order to quickly recalibrate schedules and budgets.
  • Effectively manage, maintain & communicate project status to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Proactively anticipates needs and responds quickly to issues such as billing, logistics, consultant capacity, etc.
  • Improve methods, systems, and processes for collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure quality outcomes for sponsored entities. Identify and handle opportunities and challenges.
  • Develop reporting communications around district and school outcomes with key stakeholders.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent work experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of experience in a project management capacity.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, follow-through, and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently are essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team in an environment of frequent change.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in making decisions that impact stakeholders.
  • A strong ability to work proactively with integrity and adapt creatively with stakeholders and clients.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Love of learning and learns quickly.
  • Excellent leadership and people skills.
  • Professional appearance and persona.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and high pressure.
  • Must be able to handle conflicts and disagreements with diplomacy and respect, and to remain calm and work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to keep and maintain accurate up-to-date budgets.
  • Computer skills including proficiency in MS Office, with exceptional skills of Excel, are essential. 
  • Ability to balance diverse perspectives among stakeholders with different interests.
  • Very knowledgeable and comfortable with SalesForce Lightning including creating reports and dashboards.
