Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Analyst to join the Market and Customer Intelligence team. The team works at the highest level of corporate strategy and the primary role of this position is to gather data and generate trusted and actionable insight from industry research, customer interviews, customer advisory groups, and internal FranklinCovey research and data sources. This individual will be deeply involved in organizing, supporting, and gathering data from customer advisory councils and will work collaboratively with product teams, sales teams, and other research-oriented teams to gather and share data and insights as appropriate across the organization.


The ideal candidate has a strong background in strategic analysis across multiple industries. This person should have a high level of business acumen with a solid background in quantitative and financial analysis as well as experience in M&A settings. The candidate should have strong writing and presentation skills and will be able to collaborate well across the organization as well as with external clients and research partners. This person should be able to direct the work of external vendors and partners and represent the company credibly in a variety of settings. A Senior Analyst should have a high level of intellectual agility, a penchant for detail, extreme curiosity, appropriate discretion, and the ability to synthesize a large amount of data and boil it down to the essential and relevant facts while continually remaining open to new insights and ideas. This person should have a high degree of initiative, organization, self-direction, and follow-through to meet commitments, goals, and deadlines. The candidate should have unquestioned integrity, be both assertive and intellectually humble, have a collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit, and seek to contribute to and build the overall strength of an incredible Market and Customer Intelligence team.


Essential Job Functions

  • Conduct wide-ranging research in the corporate HR, Talent, and Learning industries.
  • Play a central role in organizing, supporting, and gathering data from customer advisory councils.
  • Work across the organization to gather and share strategic, customer, and product research, and business intelligence (BI).
  • Establish and use technology platforms to encourage data sharing and application across the organization.
  • Interview clients, potential clients, and other industry participants.
  • Produce high quality written summaries and presentations of findings and implications.
  • Develop and share well-informed insights to help refine the team’s overall strategic perspective.
  • Conduct financial and other quantitative analysis of competitors, M&A targets, survey research, FranklinCovey performance data.
  • Share data and insights to help inform the research agenda for the FranklinCovey Institute, the customer-facing research and thought leadership publishing arm of FranklinCovey.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Requires a degree in business, finance, or similar (MBA is a plus) and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in strategy, consulting, or similar industry analysis roles.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate strategic advisory boards and customer advisory councils.
  • Solid quantitative and financial analysis skills.
  • Strong writing, presentation, and general communication skills.
  • High proficiency in MS Excel and other standard business applications, experience with statistical methods and Business Intelligence tools like Domo or Tableau is a strong plus.
  • Strong intellectual agility, penchant for detail, extremely curious, ability to synthesize a large amount of data and boil it down to the essential and relevant facts.
  • Ability to build strong relationships, establish trust, and work collaboratively with multiple teams across the organization.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in making pragmatic recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently – self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Ability to manage deadlines efficiently.
