Job Description

Title:  Contract Specialist

Reports to:  Director of Legal Services

Job Summary 

FranklinCovey is looking for a talented Contract Specialist to join its growing legal team.  The Contract Specialist will perform a range of duties, including negotiating contract terms, drafting contracts, revising contracts, and following contracts through to execution.  The Contract Specialist will also advise the company on the meaning and impact of contract provisions.  Ideal candidates should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, be detail oriented, and enjoy reviewing, drafting, and editing contracts.  The Contract Specialist should possess in-depth knowledge of legal agreements and legal terminology.

Essential Job Requirements

  • Experience with reviewing and negotiating different types of contracts, such as Master Services Agreements, License Agreements, Vendor Agreements, and Non-Disclosure Agreements.
  • Knowledgeable and current with standard contract clauses and terminology (e.g., copyright, indemnification, insurance).
  • Experience with redlining/track-changes software such as Word Compare.
  • Experience designing contract templates and business procedures.
  • Participate in the preparation of addenda and amendments to agreements.
  • Experience with management of high-volume contracts/tasks.
  • Experience with intellectual property agreements strongly preferred.
  • Experience using contract management software preferred.

 

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree, Paralegal Certificate, or 5 plus years relevant experience. The successful candidate:

  • Has significant experience negotiating, drafting, and reviewing contracts.
  • Is proficient with Microsoft tools.
  • Needs to be analytical, highly organized, detail oriented, and possess sound judgment.
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
