Title:  Custom Learning Solutions Architect

Reports to:  Director of Custom Solutions

Location: Anywhere in the USA

 Job Summary

Work in a highly collaborative, innovative, and fast-paced consulting environment, splitting each work week evenly between sales (meetings, designing custom learning programs and deliverables, scoping, contracting) and active projects (learning deliverable development, content development).

Essential Job Functions

  • Act as a learning and organizational development thought leader for FranklinCovey clients and internal partners
  • Lead inquiry conversations with clients to fully understand their needs and constraints
  • Craft learning solutions unique to individual organizational needs and business outcomes using FranklinCovey’s suite of content
  • Stay current with trends in learning and development as well as organizational development
  • Align unique business needs and metrics—such as retention, engagement, and sales conversion rates—to customized learning approaches, FranklinCovey content, and recommended measurement strategies
  • Support FranklinCovey Client Partners in responding to complex Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
  • Support clients and Client Partners most efficiently in the sales process while still allowing time for active client projects

Learning Design

  • Develop creative approaches to learning, leveraging new modalities or methodologies such as on-the-job projects and gamification for behavior
  • Develop custom content based on client need (e.g., workshop outlines or unique learning materials)
  • Partners with clients, Client Partners, and/or Implementation Specialists to analyze learning needs and provide input for program design, curriculum design, course content
  • Help clients with problem definition and resolution and craft a solution that will meet their goals in the most effective and streamlined way
  • Serve as a trusted advisor providing instructional design expertise for our internal and external clients

Scoping and Contracting

  • Scope the required budget to develop customized learning solutions for clients based on a deep understanding of the ADDIE and SAM processes as well as specific job functions such as instructional design, graphic design, and project management
  • Create highly detailed contracts that clearly define the job-to-be-done for each client project based on your learning design and recommendations in the sales process

Active Projects

  • Support projects teams—consisting of a project manager, instructional designer, and graphic designer—in executing your learning design
  • Act as an ongoing thought leader with the client after establishing a relationship during the sales phase
  • Collaborate with the instructional designer in developing more complex learning deliverables, such as new workshop outlines, client-specific tools, and other unique deliverables
  • Problem solve with the project manager as issues or challenges arise in a project, such as scope creep or client misalignment
  • Identify creative ways to stay in budget on a project while still delivering world-class quality

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or 10+ years of experience in learning and development
  • Master’s Degree in Instructional Designer or Organizational Development preferred
  • Understanding of curriculum design and adult learning principles
  • Demonstrate genuine curiosity about various industries, cultures, and organizations
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of FranklinCovey’s content
  • Demonstrate strong writing skills
  • Demonstrate strong executive presence
  • Demonstrate strong time management skills, including building new tools or processes to enhance team efficiencies
