Job Summary

The Product Maintenance Coordinator fills an essential role for the Innovations team at FranklinCovey, bringing both project management and instructional design skills to the work of maintaining our training products. This role evaluates and manages the issues/errors/legal requirements identified within our current FranklinCovey training products and owns the process to fix them. They are expected to assess and document issues, scope out a sprint cycle with stake holders, develop the work breakdown structure and manage to it, while providing continual follow up communication to stakeholders and those impacted. A sprint cycle could include proactively acquiring resources, making some updates to learning solutions yourself, and coordinating efforts of team members and third-party contactors or consultants in order to deliver according to plan. Along with the maintenance of current products, the product maintenance coordinator will also assist the Learning Solutions team on new product development; this could include either instructional design or project management support based on the needs of the larger team.

 

Essential Job Functions

 

  • Lead scoping efforts (defining goals and deliverables) for each sprint cycle, with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Determine appropriate solutions to maintenance issues in consultation with leaders and members of Learning Solutions team.
  • Develop sprint plans and associated communication documents.
  • Effectively communicate project status to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Maintain schedules and deliverables.
  • Track and manage all components impacted throughout the process and collaborate with external stakeholders such as International, Operations, and Portal to ensure consistency among product channels.
  • Make maintenance fixes while influencing other project team members and contractors to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Negotiate new rights and terms for use of quotes, images, videos etc.
  • Work collaboratively to manage changes in scope and direction in order to quickly recalibrate schedules and budgets.
  • Contribute to continual process improvement.

 

 

Job Requirements

 

 

Requirements

  • Understanding of project management principles and some experience running projects.
  • Foundational instructional design skills, including some facility with industry authoring tools or a willingness and ability to build that facility.
  • Strong organizational skills, maniacal attention to detail, consistent communication skills, and an almost OCD level of thoroughness.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly with a team in an environment of change.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work within deadlines and takes responsibility for meeting those deadlines.
  • Experience working with localizations/translations and global stakeholders and colleagues is a plus.
  • Ability to keep and maintain accurate up-to-date budgets.
  • Proficiency in MS Office are essential. Familiarity with Jira is a plus.
