Job Summary
The Project Manager is an essential role in our product development team. Project Managers shepherd projects from the idea stage through development and testing until they are launched and managed. Our Education Division is fast-growing with a backlog of many exciting projects and a team of busy, creative people. The Project Manager helps focus the efforts of the team by rigorously applying the development process. He or she ensures the purpose of the project is clear, roles are clear, work is broken down into clear tasks and milestones, and budget is correctly estimated and tracked. Communication and relationship-building are essential to the role of the Project Manager. Ultimately, the Project Manager is the champion of correctly using a great process to create great products.

Essential Job Functions

  • Ensure projects follow a development process designed to produce high-quality, global products.
  • Track tasks, milestones, and budget.
  • Ensure clarity of outcomes and roles and maintain relationships with many stakeholders.
  • Partner with the project architect or other project leaders to take ownership of quality outcomes of each project.
  • Communicate, communicate, communicate – ensure all parties have the information they need about the project status and their role in the project.
  • Work collaboratively to manage changes in project scope and direction in order to quickly recalibrate schedules and budgets.
  • Influence project team members and contractors to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Manage project budgets and vendor relationships.
  • Contribute to continual process improvement.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent work experience) plus a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a project management capacity.
• Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, follow-through, and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently are essential.
• A strong ability to work proactively and adapt creatively with stakeholders and clients.
• Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in making decisions that impact stakeholders.
• Outstanding communication skills both verbally and in writing. Must be able to talk straight and not shy away from difficult performance conversations, but to do so with tact and genuine empathy.
• Love of learning and learns quickly.
• Professional appearance and persona.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and high pressure.
• Ability to keep and maintain accurate up-to-date budgets.
• Highly comfortable in using business software including MS Office, Google Docs, PDFs, file transfer applications, and project management software. Familiarity with Teamwork Projects is a plus.
• Familiarity with the process and workflows of producing both print and digital content.
• Must be resourceful to solve problems that inevitably come up during the development process.
