Job Summary

As a Software Release Manager at FranklinCovey, you are responsible for the continuous delivery of application releases supporting mission-critical applications and services. You leverage product management practices to define and program management practices to lead innovative initiatives focused on customer experience, scalability, security and product optimization in a continuous delivery model. You use agile methodologies to plan, coordinate, and lead deployments of major product releases, weekly patches, and daily changes in a highly integrated multi-SaaS environment.


You are driven to succeed, setting and meeting tight deadlines, while maintaining positive relationships with all of the teams you must interact with and rely upon. You understand the implication of OS and platform updates to the application layer, from a technical and customer experience perspective. You are proactive and anticipate a release schedule which is ahead of customer needs and technical obsolescence. 

You are able to collaborate with multi-discipline teams and communicate clearly to everyone from Executives to individual contributors. You have experience working in Agile environments. You love customers and partners. Bonus points if you are familiar with DevOps best practices and/or have experience managing B2B or B2C Cloud Application releases.

Essential Job Functions

  • Understands entirety of course and assessment systems and release process
  • Coordinates program migrations at a high level
  • Organizes, monitors, and manages releases
  • Clearly communicates release constraints, conflicts, or requirements that could affect project outcomes and stakeholder satisfaction
  • Identifies scope of release and develops documents outlining key release objectives, goals, plans, requirements, and schedules; modifies plans, and schedules as necessary
  • Ensures accurate information is gathered and disseminated to stakeholders and ensures final documents are thoroughly reviewed, accurate, complete, and user-friendly
  • Monitors, reports on and disseminates release status, issues, requirements, dependencies, and release plans
  • Assumes responsibility for successfully launching finished products
  • Evaluates feedback and stakeholder concerns and offers assistance and solutions as appropriate
  • Communicates release updates, future releases, and changes
  • Establishes and maintains professional working relations and communication with customers, project sponsors, service providers, and outside contacts
  • Recommends improvements in policies, procedures, and functions

 

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • Scrum Master
  • SCM tools (BitBucket, JIRA, BAMBOO, Confluence)
  • SOX ITGCs, GDPR and Risk Compliance informed
  • Checkmarx or similar code review tool and OWASP aware
  • Environment build-out prep installs, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Deployment management for both Production and Non-Production Systems
  • Adept at working with QA, Dev/Ops, CISO, Dev, Product Managers and Customer Support
  • Ability to document and gather signoff of change requests for Change Control Board
  • Use of organizational and time management tools to optimize release program and promote transparency
